Our Flagship Workforce Development Program
The Outpost is Waypoint’s flagship workforce development program, truly second to none and virtually unheard of in youth initiatives.
Located along the scenic Youghiogheny River Trail in West Newton, The Outpost is a thriving youth-run riverside eatery serving fresh smash burgers, wings, fries, specialty shakes, and more.
Each year, 30 interns experience what many call the best summer job anywhere. With strong tips, they often earn double what they could make at other local jobs. More importantly, they develop specialized, professional skills through competency certification in every restaurant position, from grill master and cashier to eventually managing inventory and becoming a shift leader.
