OUR STORY
Waypoint started as an idea from young adults who grew up nearby and wanted to love their neighbors by creating a safe place for kids to grow. Our core program serves more than 130 middle and high school kids each year. As those kids mature, our focus shifts from simply providing a safe place to offering real opportunity. That's why we launched The Outpost, where older students learn hospitality, entrepreneurship, and responsibility while serving their community. Today, those same young people are equipping the next generation. In the end, they'll know us by our love.

THE OUTPOST
It all started with a bike ride and an appetite. One day, while riding along the trail, Waypoint’s founder stopped to ask if there was anywhere nearby to grab something to eat—only to discover there wasn’t. Seeing a simple but real need, he opened a small diner inside a repurposed shipping container and called it The Outpost. What began as a place to serve food along the trail quickly grew into something much bigger, creating meaningful work experience opportunities for students. It also became the foundation for what is now the Waypoint Community Center’s hands-on workforce programs.
